One thing I would point out is that many (not all, but many) muli-band antennas do not cover the GMRS band very well. If the antenna is advertised to cover VHF and UHF it is generally tuned to the Amateur Radio frequencies and GMRS might be outside of it's tuned spectrum giving you a high SWR in those frequencies. It is generally best practice to get a GMRS specific antenna or verify with an analyzer that your antenna will work for those frequencies.
